SCADA and Controls

MCT designs and deploys in-house SCADA and plant control systems for utility-scale PV, BESS, and hybrid environments across MEA.

From system architecture and open-protocol network design through HMI development, site acceptance testing, and IEC 62443 cybersecurity hardening, we deliver unified plant visibility and dispatch with one accountable team.

Project process

Phase 1

01

System Architecture

Plant-wide control philosophy, I/O list definition, redundancy requirements, and integration scope with inverters, PCS, BESS, weather stations, and grid operator interfaces.

02

Communication & Network Design

Field-bus topology, fiber and wireless layout, protocol mapping (IEC 61850, Modbus TCP, DNP3, OPC UA), and segregation between control and corporate networks.

Phase 2

03

Hardware Specification

RTU, PLC, gateway, and server selection. Industrial-grade switches, time synchronization (PTP/NTP), and environmental hardening for desert and coastal sites.

04

HMI & Software Development

Custom dashboards, alarm hierarchies, automated dispatch logic, historian configuration, and reporting templates aligned to client and offtaker requirements.

Phase 3

05

Integration & Site Acceptance Testing

Point-to-point verification, control loop tuning, failover testing, and witnessed SAT with utility and grid operator.

06

Cybersecurity & Handover

IEC 62443 hardening, role-based access control, patch management procedures, operator training, and as-built documentation.

Key benefits

Real-time plant visibility

Sub-second telemetry across every inverter, string, transformer, and battery rack. Performance, faults, and dispatch status in one operational view, not a vendor portal.

Multi-asset orchestration

Native integration of PV, BESS, diesel, and grid imports under one control layer. Automated dispatch logic for peak shaving, ramp control, and curtailment management.

Open-protocol, no vendor lock-in

Designed around open standards (IEC 61850, Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA) and deployable on any tier-1 hardware. Your plant, your data, your future upgrade path.

Cybersecurity by design

IEC 62443-aligned architecture, network segmentation, encrypted communications, and audit logging. Compliance-ready for institutional offtakers and grid operators.
